アメリカ ラスベガス在住 Mr.A Diazからお預かりした、GSX1000S カタナ
ＲＣＭ－５００（Part-13）です！
This is GSX1000S Katana (Part-13) shipped from Mr. A Diaz in Las Vegas!
車体は組み上がりましたが、まだまだ沢山の加工や作業がある RCM-500・・・
当初の予想よりも大変である事を 今更ながらですが思い知らされてます。
The body of the car has been assembled, but there is still a lot of work to be done on the RCM-500…
We can now see that it is more difficult than initially expected.
先ずはスイングアームにスタビライザーを追加溶接して
First, additionally weld the stabilizer to the swingarm.
リアキャリパーブラケットはトルクロッドを使用する方法のものではなく
直接固定する方式にしました。
The rear caliper brackets do not use rods and are directly fixed.
スイングアームの加工はこれにて全て終了！この後は社内表面処理部門へと行きます。
The processing of the swingarm is now complete! Next, we’ll move on to our in-house surface treatment department.
湯浅はエンジンの分解に入っていました。
Yuasa was in the process of disassembling the engine.
どうやら自分の目でしっかり確認しておかないと どうにも不安らしく、すでに
八割方組み上がっていたエンジンを再分解・・・
Apparently, he was worried if he didn’t check it with his own eyes, so he took apart the engine, which had been 80% assembled.
いくつか見落としていた箇所が見つかった様で「分解しておいて良かった！」と
言っておりました。
“I’m glad I took it apart!”, he said, as he found several things that concerned him.
そして再度 エンジン組み立てへ。
And now, back to assembling of the engine.
Ｋawasaki Z系に比べて ＫＡＴＡＮＡ系は、クランクベアリングコンディションの
良い個体が多いです。
Compared to the Kawasaki Z series, the KATANA series has many crank bearings in good condition.
最初から標準仕様でオイルポンプにトロコイドローターを採用している所も
ＫＡＴＡＮＡ系ならではの進化と言えるでしょう。
The place where the trochoid rotor was initially used for the oil pump has evolved in a way unique to the KATANA series.
ヨシムラ製ハイリフトカムシャフトが入荷して来ましたので。
Yoshimura’s High Lift Camshafts are in stock now,
ダイヤルゲージとタイミングホイールをエンジンに組み付けて。
So we assembled the dial gauge and the timing wheel to the engine.
指定のマニュアルに則り。
Following the specified manual,
バルブの開閉タイミングをきちんと設定してあげます。
we’ve set the opening and closing timing of the valve .
これでやっとエンジンが完成しましたーっ！
With this, the engine is finally complete!
